........college searches and campus visits with my oldest daughter, Katie Anne? She is a Jr this year at Trinity School, and it is on the immediate horizon to start taking some road trips.
When did she grow up? Wasn't it yesterday that she was in my arms? And, when did I get so old, that I could be a parent of not just 2 highschoolers next year (which I will be!!), but a soon to be college parent?!
Life is fun but moving fast.

You are not too young for such a task. (Although, you are very young). For proof, I offer my observations of your eldest. Katie Ann (Attie Kan to some) is good and gracious and strong and kind and articulate and thoughtful and industious and self possessed. She is confident without bravado, generous without ostentation and beautiful and talented without a trace of conceit. I would (and have) trust my children to her care. They have responded with unbounded affection for her. She has, in her own wisdom, chosen wonderful friends and she is loyal and faithful to them. She is everything a high school junior should be and more. She is a terrific young lady. That all of this is a credit to her is certain, that it is a credit to you and to Mark is equally certain.
As to how you have so quickly come to this pass, I think that the time has passed in a seemingly endless series of moments, tiny increments which flee us with dazzling speed. I believe that the growth of your lovely daughter has kept pace with the fleeting years and been fostered by your love, your faith, your wisdom and your constancy.
Because of your unwavering love and attention the present situation seems to have come suddenly - but already you share a rich, thick blanket of memories from these last sixteen years.
Together these things stand you in very good stead - to stay the course and help Katie Ann to continue to grow in grace and wisdom as she discerns where to look and what to study. You are old enough (just barely), but more to the point, you are more than capable. The fruit of you capability is all around you.
